TBT: What Makes Me A Mermaid, Doesn't Make You A Mermaid

We are all different and should celebrate being unique.

We are all different and should celebrate being unique.

What makes me a mermaid? Is it a slamming body in a string bikini? No. Is it brightly painted locks of hair? Not really. It's because I love the sea. It's because I never tire of the sun and sand no matter how cold or hot it is. It's because there's nothing like salty air and fine mist whipping around with the wind. It's because I can't get enough of how the sun dances across the waves, painting them with color and then none at all when it's shining full and brightly, blinding anyone and anything who looks at it directly. And quite frankly? It's just because I said so. Don't ever let anyone tell you that you can't be who you are and not for a second do you allow them to tell you what can or can't make you happy.
